If you have taken out vehicle insurance with Sterling, it is possible to add extra features to your policy. We offer a wide range of optional extras, from breakdown cover to key cover and from misfuelling to windscreen cover.
Our standalone camping equipment cover can protect all camping-related furniture and furnishings, personal possessions, luggage and camping accessories. Whether you’re spending the weekend in the English countryside, or going on a three month trip around Europe – get your equipment covered with Sterling.
Protect all your portable electronic gadgets including mobile phones, laptops, iPads and tablets, sat navs, cameras and many more items. This comprehensive policy means your items can be covered for accidental damage, theft and even mechanical failure. It is even possible to take them abroad for up to 90 days within any 12 month period.
If you’re facing a speeding ticket or other allegations, the legal processes and paperwork can seem lengthy and endless. Our legal support is available for motorists who are complying or contesting a fixed penalty notice. It provides access to legal advice, a helpline operated by motoring law experts, and up to £25,000 cover for a claimant’s legal fees.
The costs of spare parts for any vehicle can soon add up. Whatever project you’re working on, you may want to consider separate insurance for your collection of bits and pieces in the garage. This policy is available as an extra benefit with Sterling car insurance and starts with £2,000 cover for one car.
If you’ve insured your car, van, camper or motorhome with Sterling, you can protect personal possessions inside the vehicle up to a total value of £2,500. It means your items can be protected against accidental damage, fire and lightning damage, malicious damage, storm and flood as well as theft from a locked vehicle.
If your own vehicle has been seriously damaged following an accident, a courtesy car can help you continue with day-to-day life. On the majority of motor insurance policies, this extra benefit needs to be added. So speak to a member of our team direct to find out if this is possible on your policy.
A chipped windscreen can quickly lead to a crack across the glass if it’s ignored. Sterling’s car windscreen cover is optional, and it can be used for costs towards repairing broken window or windscreen glass. It will also cover any glass damage severe enough for your vehicle to fail its MoT. There’s no excess to pay on repairs, and it will cover up to £300.
Add Sterling’s home-start service and UK breakdown cover to your insurance policy from £46.80. It’s ideal for keeping you on the move, wherever you may be. We can also offer European breakdown cover for cars, vans, motorhomes or campers which are travelling further afield.
If you ever lose your vehicle keys, replacing them can be expensive with the average cost for a car key/fob, including security re-programming, at more than £125. From £17, you can add Sterling’s Key Cover to your policy when you take out a vehicle insurance policy with us. The cover includes recovering the keys from inside a premises or vehicle, and the cost of replacing them afterwards.
We all know of someone who has mistakenly filled their car with the wrong kind of fuel. With more households owning multiple vehicles these days, it can easily happen. So from £13.99, add misfuel cover to your policy when you buy a motor insurance through Sterling. If you do fill a diesel engine with unleaded, or vice versa, we can help sort out the problem.
Road accidents can tragically lead to serious injuries and fatalities. Sterling’s personal accident cover can pay out additional compensation if specific injuries are suffered or there is death in the event of an accident. Our prices start from £17 when added to a motor insurance policy.
You never know, something may happen where you need to borrow a vehicle. Flex Drive allows you to drive any car with comprehensive insurance, whether it belongs to a family member or a friend. To qualify, your existing or new policy with Sterling must include a ‘drive other cars’ benefit which gives you third party cover. This is then extended to Flex Drive upon request.
Whether you’ve restored a VW camper or drive a modified car, we know a lot of time, effort and money has been invested in your vehicle. An agreed valuation is where the value of the vehicle is agreed between you and the insurer at the start of the policy. So, if it is involved in an accident or loss, you are able to claim the vehicle’s pre-agreed value rather than its current market value at the time of the loss.
An excess is the contribution you are required to pay towards a claim made on your car insurance policy. Sterling’s Excess Protect cover will pay back the cost of the excess you have to pay in a claim where there is no responsible third party. If added to your policy, it can help soften the blow of claiming on your insurance.
