If you are planning your 2026 road trip calendar, here are must-visit van life festivals and events to keep on your radar.

Campervan Campout

Kickstarting the season in the South of England, the Campervan Campout is a fantastic family-friendly event. Expect a massive shopping village, a dedicated “Wellness Zone”, and plenty of artisan food stalls. It’s a great spot to see the latest professional conversions and grab some high-quality gear for your van.

Location: South of England Showground, Haywards Heath

Dates: 1st – 3rd of May 2026

Vanlife Festival

Taking over the West Mid Showground, Vanlife Festival is one of the most inclusive events on the calendar. Whether you have a luxury motorhome or a converted horsebox, everyone is welcome. The Festival is known for its workshops, covering everything from solar power installation to “living small” tips.

Location: West Mid Showground, Shrewsbury

Dates: 29th – 31st May 2026

Abenteuer & Allrad (Germany)

For those looking to take their van abroad, Europe’s largest cross-country and off-road expo is an absolute must. Located in Bavaria, this event is focused on “overlanding” and 4×4 vehicles.

While the main exhibition takes place on a former US missile base in the forest, the real magic often happens at the Camp Area. Located by the river, it becomes a temporary city for converted ex-military trucks and Unimos to high-spec 4×4 Sprinters and simple bush taxis.

Location: Bad Kissingen, Germany

Dates: 4th – 7th June 2026

Vanlove Fest

Moving to its new home at the iconic Thruxton Race Circuit for 2026, Vanlove Fest is all about the community. Known for its “Survivors Convoy” and trackside camping, it’s a high-energy weekend with great DJs and a massive “Pits Party Zone”.

Location: Thruxton Race Circuit, Hampshire

Dates: 18th – 21st June 2026

Mighty Dub Fest

Set against the stunning backdrop of Alnwick Castle, this festival is a treat for the eye as well as the soul. While it has a strong VW focus, the “Mighty” name says it all as it’s a large-scale celebration with three stages of live music and a very welcoming, laid-back vibe.

Mighty Dub Fest is also a famously dog-friendly and family-focused event. The trade village is extensive too, featuring over 70 traders selling a wide range of goods, from festival gear to VW parts.

Location: Alnwick Castle Pastures, Northumberland

Dates: 18th – 21st June 2026

Camper Jam

One of the most established events in the UK, Camper Jam is held in the beautiful grounds of Weston Park. It’s famous for its “V-Dub” culture, but caters to all van enthusiasts. The highlight is often the “Show & Shine”, where you can see some of the best-kept campers in the country.

Location: Weston Park, Shropshire

Dates: 3rd – 5th July 2026f

Vanlife Eats Festival

If you believe that van life food should be more than just beans on toast, this is the festival for you. Focused on the culinary side of life on the road, you will find live cooking demonstrations, food competitions, and incredible local produce here. Our stomachs are rumbling already!

Location: Dummer Down Farm, Basingstoke

Dates: 28th – 31st August 2026

Stay protected on the road

Whether you are heading to a local weekend meet or crossing the channel for a European expo, ensuring your vehicle is properly covered is essential.

Many insurers won’t cover the specific modifications or the high-value contents of a campervan, but at  Sterling, we offer tailored campervan insurance that can include cover for DIY conversions, personal effects, and European travel. That way, you can focus on the festival fun while we handle the rest.
